When you think about the NBA, what position is the most dominant?  Of course the answer is the Center.  What most people don't realize, is who the most dominant player in history is.  Any person who just thinks that they know basketball would answer with Shaq.  To those people I say nay.  Shaq is only the second most dominant player to ever play.  To those of you who really know sports, you would correctly say: Rik Smits.  Rik Smits is reveered as a gump to most, but he is my hero.  His numbers don't show it, but he was well on his way to breaking almost all NBA records.  The only reason that his stats don't show that he was great is because he was injured in the tragic nose fire of 1994.  He was standing too close to some candles while lighting them, when all of a sudden all of the grease from his face caught on fire.  Read more about this tragedy on the Rik Smits page.
